We’ve curated a specific 9-10 oz. Horween Illini Latigo, an exceptionally thick, heavy-duty hide selected for its immense tensile strength and everlasting durability. This isn't just a collar; it is a piece of heirloom equipment for your most loyal companion.
Most commercial collars use 4-5 oz. leather and plated zinc hardware. We’ve nearly doubled the thickness with 9 oz. Horween Illini Latigo and utilized industrial-grade solid cast brass. These materials usually reserved for professional workwear and bespoke saddlery.
The Materials
- Horween® Illini Latigo: A specialized tannage that combines a chrome tan for strength with a vegetable retain for body. It is remarkably tough and weather-resistant, maintaining its integrity through years of rugged use while developing a deep, seasoned character.
- Solid Cast Brass: Every component—the buckle, the rivets, and the D-ring—is solid cast brass. It will never rust, flake, or fail.
- Artisan Finished: Each collar features hand-waxed and burnished edges for a smooth, refined feel and an old-world aesthetic.
