Twelve cards. Four slots. That is the whole trick.

For anyone who wants Bugs Moran essentials: four slots, nothing stacked on top.

Equine Horween® Shell Cordovan with a six-month vegetable tannage. Dense fiber resists creasing; daily carry deepens the self-polishing finish into patina.

Four slots. Twelve cards. That's the whole trick.

The Leather: Horween® Shell Cordovan

Widely considered the finest leather in the world, Shell Cordovan is vegetable-tanned at Horween® over six months in roughly 100 mostly-manual steps: a process unchanged since 1905. Its dense fiber structure resists creasing (it rolls rather than creases), and it's self-polishing: a quick pass with a horsehair brush revives the glassy luster. No polish needed.

How It Ages

Shell Cordovan develops the most prized patina of any leather we use: black deepens to a glassy, from-within luster that no topcoat can fake. Like a fine wine, it gets better with each wearing.

FAQ

Why does Shell Cordovan cost more? Each shell is vegetable-tanned over six months in ~100 mostly-manual steps, and demand outstrips what Horween® can make.

No bill slot: really? Really. Fold bills once and slide them behind your cards; that's how it stays this thin.

How do I care for it? A quick pass with a horsehair brush brings back the shine: Shell Cordovan is self-polishing, no product needed.

Can I personalize it? Yes, most items can be monogrammed. Add Item Personalization at checkout or email info@ashlandleather.com.

  • Leather Care

Shell Cordovan: Tough, Self-Healing, and Easy to Care For

Shell cordovan is legendary for its durability and beauty. Its secret? Natural oils that redistribute with wear, practically erasing minor scuffs as you go.

To keep your shell cordovan looking its best:

Avoid sharp objects: Keep keys and loose change in a different pocket.

Beat the heat: Don't leave your wallet in a hot car.

Effortless shine: Just carry it, and your wallet develops a beautiful polish naturally in your pocket.

With just a little care, your shell cordovan will last for years. A soft cloth and horsehair brush are all you need for regular cleaning.

Ashland leather comes pre-oiled, so hold off on conditioners for a few months. Later, if you'd like, try Saphir Cordovan Cream or Horween Venetian Shoe Cream for an extra touch of care.
